SATURDAY OCT. 1ST-UPDATE-WE LOVE YOU CHRISTINE
Christine is in good hands at UCLA Hospital! The family feels a lot more confident in the abilities of the doctors at that facility. She opened her eyes again today when I was reading all of the comments from the blog and Facebook. Right now is a very critical period in which this hospital is spending a great deal of time diagnosing her condition and collaborating on various methods of treatment. They do plan to wean her off of the sedation over the next few days, thus we'll know more. I feel as though I'm repeating the same information over and over again, but there hasn't been a critical shift either way. Like many of you said, Christine is a fighter. If it wasn't for that innate determination, I fear she might not have made it this far. On a more positive note, I found out more from her boyfriend, Brett, regarding what occurred immediately after the accident. I was so happy to hear that she was totally cognizant after the accident. She was even consoling Brett and letting him know everything would be OK. So for now, I'm going to trust Christine that everything will be OK.

Christine...I feel like I can breathe a little sigh of relief knowing you are at a great facility, closer to home and are making strides in the right direction. You have the strength to pull through this, you have the will to want to fight this and you have shown us that. I told the girls that you are now closer to home and they both smiled and said "Mommy that means she is getting better and she is going come home soon"...I got tears in my eyes because I feel like this a lesson for them that prayers do work and girls can fight and not give up. Can't wait to see you and give you a hug and tell you that everything is going to be alright. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle, as I feel the same too! I kept telling her today about how everyone keeps mentioning the strength we all know she has within her. She is obviously accessing that now. I really do believe she will be coming home to us! I will give her all of your love again tomorrow.
